Don’t miss ‘The Art of the Selfie’ Pop Up Gallery and interactive space in Old Street Station, London, EC1.
4th – 14th November, 8am – 7pm.
From Warhol’s iconic pop art photos through to contemporary expressions of the self, the pop up gallery will explore self-portraiture in the age of the selfie. The space will feature an array of interactive areas, from a self-generated portrait installation to a mirrored selfie wall by some of the best young creatives; alongside a shop packed with graphic art prints and cool stationery gifts.
For those seeking a cultural lunch hour or an after work creative fix, be sure to check out our art workshops and talks on offer throughout the week.
Come and explore, interact and shop ‘The Art of the Selfie’, in a way that has never been seen before.

Work in progress, from the studio this morning ….
I have been illustrating a book, but managed to get into the studio yesterday.
What a treat!
Having had a lovely Easter with the family, baking bread and hot cross buns and eating lots of chocolate..! … I am back in the studio.
Just time for a quick painting/sketch this week  … oil and charcoal on paper …
This is the last sitting for this painting.
I didn’t add too much this week – just made the background a bit darker.
I then painted a quick portrait in oil on paper, which is at the bottom of this post.
A fabulously focused show, not to be missed ….!
Becoming Picasso: Paris 1901 is a small collection of work produced by Picasso when he was 19, for his debut exhibition in Paris.
During 1901 Picasso painted at least 120 paintings and emerged as one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
I was struck by these self portraits – they show self-confidence and intensity – perhaps a turning point in Picasso’s work.
